Zero Five Antennas have made what we consider the very best verticals possible. The construction is rugged, well designed, and very RF high power reliable. 

     We at Zerofive Antennas strive to bring you the best quality products that money can buy at any price. We use nothing but the finest materials. Our products are all CNC machined on our Lathes and Mills then hand assembled to ensure the least amount of time spent installing your new antenna. Over recent months there have been other companies building similar verticals claiming their product is better than ZEROFIVE products. We are the originator of this design and our craftmanship shows in all of our Products. While others are less money, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. It takes good materials and hours of machining to make a excellent Antenna.

     Our base plate is CNC machined from 3/8 OF AN INCH T-6 aluminum. All of the holes are CNC drilled for a perfect fit to our base tubes. Our base tube is made from 2 1/2 inch 1/4 wall T-6 ALUMINUM and then CNC milled and drilled. OVER TWICE THE THICKNESS of other companies products.

     Our base assembly is then bolted together with 1/2 inch Grade 8 machine bolts. These have over 20 times the strength of 1/4 grade 3 stainless steel bolts. This allows our foldover mounts to have a bind free 180 degree rotation compared to other designs with only 90 degree rotation. What if you were mounting your vertical on a slight hill? It would not even be able to lay on the ground!

     To clear up a couple of things about our insulator, we use CNC machined Oil impregnated cast nylon. This material has oil present in it to keep it from drying up in the sunlight. This ensures that your antenna will stay up and not dry up and splinter like fiberglass will when it is out in the elements. I am sure you had an antenna at one time that failed because of a dried up fiberglass insulator. As far as cost goes, our insulator costs $25.00 a foot compared to $7.00 a foot for fiberglass.

 

These free standing antennas will withstand well over 110MPH winds, but with the tip over fixture you can safely lower them too.  Makes them easy to work on and erect.

These Verticals can be mono band or multi-band verticals by adding one of two options:

1. Our special ZF-MB-5K matching UNUN transformer can be used with an good tuner in the shack - many user's have found that the tuner in their radio is good enough to match the antenna system. But of course some coaxial loss can be expected.

2. Using our new Remote automatic Antenna Tuners.  ( special pricing on packages) is the best way to use the antenna for multiband use.

These Multi-Band Verticals are a vertical element with no traps, or coils, it is a non-loaded radiator made with 6063 T832 commercial drawn aluminum tubing. 

Why Does It Work So Well ?

The popular ZF-43  43 foot vertical cannot be matched for quality and can be a great multi-band antenna for an antenna restricted QTH.  Here is a plot of the VSWR showing all the HF spectrum using our ZF-MB-5k matching UNUN.  Note that the VSWR presents a very manageable load on all the HF ham bands except 30m.  Our customers find that their built-in radio auto tuners can tune this antenna.  The design goal was accomplished with careful design of the antenna  feedpoint and taper, careful measurements and design of the nylon insulator and capacitor it creates, and the matching transformer/balun to achieve this kind of VSWR performance.

Big 2- 1/8" bottom section tapers at the top for flexibility and strength, 2" heavy duty oil filled cast nylon base insulator and 14" long base tube included.  This Antenna is made for multi-band operation and can be used with a remote antenna tuner mounted at the feedpoint or our special 5 kW   RF Matching transformer (AS-200-T-UN) at the feed point if coax is used.  A minimum of 16 radials is suggested. This is a very heavy duty vertical that can be guyed or free standing. About the Feed System of the Zero Five Multi-Band Vertical

Our matching technique will not overheat and burn up. The Array Solutions ZF-MU-5K UNUN transformers are constructed with low loss, low permeability Toroidal cores, unlike high permeability beads and binocular cores they must use to fit inside the same size enclosure. The Toroidal core transformer allows for M² turns ratio reactance multiplication. Beads do not! In other words, more OHMS of choking reactance per lb of balun and much less power loss due to heat since the correct low loss material is used. These matching transformers are specially designed around the characteristics of the Zero Five Antennas and are an unbalanced feed transformer, just like a vertical is unbalanced. It has negligible loss which is important, so all your power goes to the radiator from 160-6 meters.
